WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE ARRIVAL FOR YOUR PHYSIOTHERAPY APPOINTMENT?
You will be provided with a form to fill in your general details and a questionnaire about your pain and function. Then you will be seen by a physiotherapist who will ask you questions about your current problem, past medical history and medicines in detail. Then the physiotherapist will ask you to uncover the problem area.
If you have leg pain, it would be advisable you wear a pair of shorts and if neck or shoulder pain, then it would be advisable to wear vest. For back pain, you might be comfortable wearing shorts and vest as the therapist might have to assess your upper back and lower limb. You can bring a family member or a friend if you feel uncomfortable.
Once thorough objective assessment done, the therapist will explain you of your diagnosis and will start treatment after receiving consent from a patient. Patient will be provided with advices and exercise programme which can be emailed across to patient for their record.
Patient will be given plenty of opportunities to ask questions related to their problem area.
